As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems using C# and .NET. You'll drive architecture decisions, mentor team members, and ensure production-ready solutions that power Payoneer's payment and financial workflow platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and R&D teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Working within autonomous, agile engineering teams to achieve business goals
- Contributing to overall system design, architecture, code quality, and production deployment
- Actively shaping the future of online payments and platform capabilities
- Defining development paradigms and scaling capacity across the platform
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of professional experience with .NET (C#) or Java
- 2+ years working with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
- Proven experience developing WebAPIs and REST services
- Multi-threaded programming experience and understanding
- Experience with messaging queues/streams (RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka)
- Thrives in agile development environments
Desirable experience includes microservices architecture, SaaS platforms in cloud environments, distributed systems design, and non-relational databases like MongoDB. You'll be part of a mission-driven organization committed to removing friction from global business operations.
