Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Advanced Research Scientist to drive rapid prototyping and algorithm development for cutting-edge defense technology systems. You will focus on specialized algorithm development in radar systems, video sensors, space-based sensing, and Command and Control (C2) systems, leveraging high-fidelity modeling and simulation tools to assess technology impact on system performance. Key responsibilities include: developing state-of-the-art algorithms and software solutions with real-world military applications; implementing rapid prototyping initiatives for advanced R&D projects; collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate software and hardware, optimizing system functionalities; conducting rigorous software quality assurance using various testing methodologies; engaging with stakeholders to align R&D outcomes with mission-critical objectives; and mentoring junior team members to foster innovation and continuous improvement. Required qualifications: M.S. or Ph.D. in Applied/Computational Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Controls and Dynamical Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Statistics, or related field; 2+ years professional experience in embedded software/firmware engineering; strong foundation in applied mathematics (probability theory, optimization, linear algebra, numerical analysis); proficiency in functional programming languages (C/C++, Julia, Rust, Python, CUDA); demonstrated experience in scientific computing including algorithm implementation, optimization methods, probabilistic/stochastic models, and graphical models; knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP), image processing, controls and estimation theory; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities; ability to obtain and maintain U.S. TS/SCI security clearance. Preferred qualifications include experience with radar signal processing or image processing, and GPU programming (CUDA) with rapid prototyping experience. This role is based in Broomfield or Fort Collins, Colorado, and is part of Anduril's mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology, autonomy, AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion.
