The Insurance Expert (Senior Actuary) role sits at the heart of Alan's mission, combining technical leadership in healthcare and disability insurance with product innovation. You will work cross-functionally with data scientists, engineers, designers, and product managers to build differentiated insurance products and deliver fair pricing at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and pricing insurance offers for large companies and public institutions
- Monitoring portfolio performance and managing risks effectively
- Translating complex data, business, and regulatory questions into actionable insights
- Building winning products and pricing strategies to unlock new customer segments
- Enhancing portfolio monitoring as scale and complexity grow
- Strengthening regulatory relationships and improving compliance
- Collaborating with engineers to build tools for tailored insurance offers at scale
- Contributing to the global insurance community, supporting hiring and training across multiple countries
You bring 5+ years of insurance sector experience with meaningful exposure to health insurance products (hospitalization, group insurance, disability, or dental). You combine a scientific background (actuarial sciences, statistics, mathematics, or data science) with practical insurance experience in product, pricing, regulatory, or analytics. You are fluent in English and Dutch (French is a plus), with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. You have a builder mindset, continuously identifying opportunities to improve and scale processes. You communicate clearly and structured, and are motivated to transform the insurance and healthcare industry.
