Gumloop is an AI infrastructure platform enabling companies to build, deploy, and manage AI agents securely within their own cloud environments. As Senior Accountant, you will own the in-house accounting function as Gumloop transitions from outsourced bookkeeping to a scalable financial foundation. You'll take full ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for U.S. and Canadian entities, producing accurate financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the complete close cycle: account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, consolidations, and financial reporting
- Managing accounts payable, payroll accounting, expense accounting, fixed assets, and cash reconciliations
- Owning revenue accounting and ASC 606 compliance for subscription, usage-based, and enterprise contracts—critical for a usage-based SaaS platform
- Coordinating U.S. and Canadian corporate tax filings, sales taxes, payroll taxes, and regulatory requirements
- Partnering with leadership on unit economics and revenue recognition strategy
- Working with systems including QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Rippling, Google Sheets, and ideally Stripe Billing and Stripe Revenue Recognition
You'll have high ownership in a lean, fast-moving environment with broad scope and visibility into board reporting and strategic financial decisions.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of accounting experience with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, full close ownership, multi-entity accounting experience, hands-on ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition expertise, U.S./Canadian tax coordination experience, and a CPA or equivalent. A startup ownership mindset and comfort with modern accounting systems are essential.
