Buzz Solutions is a venture-backed AI and analytics company focused on power grid infrastructure inspection and maintenance. The company uses machine learning and predictive analytics to help electric utilities reduce inspection costs by 50%, prevent outages, mitigate wildfire risk, and manage aging infrastructure more effectively.
As Senior Account Executive for the West region, you will own the full sales cycle for utility clients across North America, with a focus on investor-owned, municipal, and cooperative utilities. You will leverage an existing network of utility contacts and develop new relationships with key decision-makers in grid modernization, transmission and distribution, asset management, grid planning, and operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with utility executives and operational leaders
- Developing new leads and informing regional sales priorities
- Understanding utility pain points and scoping deployments that balance stakeholder needs and drive both scale and rapid execution
- Negotiating and closing contracts through final execution
- Creating formal proposals, presentations, and sales materials
- Attending and presenting at industry trade shows and conferences
- Coaching SDRs on lead nurturing and pipeline development
- Maintaining accurate CRM records (HubSpot) and keeping stakeholders informed on pipeline and sales activities
- Coordinating with internal teams on sales process improvements, product development, and competitive positioning
- Supporting project managers during contract-to-implementation transitions
- Exceeding aggressive sales targets
You will work remotely with flexibility to travel when necessary, primarily serving the West Coast region (Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Seattle, and surrounding areas).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of direct, full-time experience working with electric utilities
- BA/BS in engineering, business, or relevant field (Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred)
- Significant domain expertise in one or more of: power grids, power systems, energy markets, T&D assets and operations, grid planning and operations, grid modernization, or grid reliability
- Demonstrated track record of empathy, individual initiative, curiosity, and solutions-orientation
- Attention to detail and ability to function effectively under time pressure
- Ability to work with diverse teams and translate between areas of expertise
- Flexibility and willingness to take on varied tasks in response to customer needs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
- Comfort with remote collaboration tools
- Knowledge of B2B SaaS sales to enterprise clients (energy experience strongly recommended but not required)
