Duolingo is seeking a Senior Account Executive to scale Duolingo Ads, the company's direct advertising business. As a founding member of the ad sales team, you will drive revenue growth by building and managing a portfolio of premium advertisers, prospecting new business, closing deals, and managing renewals. You'll work in a high-velocity environment reporting to the Head of Ad Sales, collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and business teams to advance deals and shape the ads offering.
Key responsibilities include owning and growing an advertiser portfolio through the full sales cycle; generating demand within key verticals by building a robust new business pipeline; working effectively with the ads team to advance deals; sharing actionable marketplace feedback to inform product strategy; establishing efficient, repeatable sales processes and strategies; making data-informed decisions on pricing and packaging; delivering persuasive, data-backed pitches and proposals; and contributing positively to team culture.
You bring 5+ years of direct ad sales experience, with a proven track record selling video and native/custom ad formats in premium digital environments. You're skilled at engaging senior decision makers at clients and agencies while also rolling up your sleeves to build sales collateral and troubleshoot issues. You have a consistent track record of building new business into lasting partnerships with top-tier advertisers and a strong understanding of ad tech and mobile app ecosystems. You understand the Duolingo product and freemium business model, are expert in using data to assess ad campaign performance, have experience building standard and innovative ad buying agreements, and possess exceptional communication and presentation skills. You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and can operate at a high level with limited structure.
