The platform integrates email, podcast hosting, websites, community, and digital products with unified publishing, growth, and monetization tools.
You will join a small, focused Trust & Safety Software Engineering Team as a Security Software Engineer specializing in anti-abuse systems. This is a hands-on technical role combining software engineering expertise with digital security and fraud prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain anti-abuse and security systems protecting the platform and users from malicious and fraudulent activity
- Develop and implement security and anti-abuse features in the core product
- Collaborate with the Trust & Safety team on projects, strategy, and problem-solving
- Lead code reviews for security-related features, ensuring quality and best practices
- Support machine learning model development by preparing and collating training data
- Work cross-functionally to ensure new features launch with robust anti-abuse measures
- Investigate security incidents and abuse reports
- Implement third-party security integrations into production systems
- Stay current with emerging security threats and anti-abuse techniques
Required Experience:
- 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong backend development with Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks
- Proficiency with modern test frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Selenium, Rspec)
- Solid understanding of full-stack web architectures and production system behavior
- Fundamental computer networking knowledge (subnetting, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Experience with security tools (WAF rules, RECAPTCHA, anti-abuse systems)
- Familiarity with threat feeds, intelligence, and enterprise fraud/security/KYC tools
- Strong technical judgment and track record of owning systems long-term
- Quality-first mindset balanced with pragmatism and delivery focus
