Pendo's Information Security team is seeking a Security Enablement Engineer to serve as the bridge between Information Security, Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, and customers. This role focuses on enabling Sales and Customer Engineering to confidently address customer security questions, resolve deal blockers, and navigate security reviews. Key responsibilities include: • Build and maintain resources that help GTM teams independently answer customer security questions and complete security questionnaires, using AI and automation to improve efficiency and enable self-service workflows. • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex security questions from Sales, researching issues and coordinating with Information Security specialists when needed to provide timely, clear responses. • Evaluate incoming security requests based on deal stage, urgency, strategic importance, and risk; set priorities and involve security specialists only when required, protecting the broader security program. • Join pre-sales and customer calls to explain Pendo's security, privacy, and compliance posture, translating complex technical concepts for both technical stakeholders and executives. • Deliver regular enablement sessions to help customer-facing teams understand security resources, documentation, and escalation processes. • Own escalations involving high-urgency or strategically important security questionnaires, coordinating accurate responses and engaging appropriate security stakeholders. • Investigate customer concerns involving security, integrations, deployment models, and data privacy; work with internal stakeholders to resolve technical objections and escalate genuine product gaps. • Identify recurring customer questions and transform them into reusable answers, improved documentation, and sales enablement materials to reduce repetitive requests to the security team. • Partner with Sales, Customer Engineering, and Product to maintain consistent, accurate security messaging throughout the customer journey. • Apply AI tools to accelerate questionnaire responses, documentation, and security enablement workflows while validating accuracy and ensuring appropriate data handling. The role requires a builder mindset—someone energized by ambiguity who identifies gaps, shapes solutions, and drives them forward. You'll operate as a strategic advisor, influencing decisions and elevating how the organization works. The ideal candidate is genuinely AI-curious, rewiring workflows around AI tools to work faster and more effectively. Requirements: • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, or Technical Consulting. • Strong experience discussing enterprise SaaS technology with customers, including APIs, integrations, deployment models, and data governance; ability to explain technical capabilities and address complex questions with confidence. • Clear, effective communication skills with both technical and executive audiences; ability to translate complex concepts into accessible explanations during live customer conversations and in written responses. • Demonstrated ability to manage competing requests, assess priorities, and follow through on commitments independently, balancing urgent customer needs with broader team objectives. • Practical familiarity with common AI tools and experience applying them to workflows beyond basic information retrieval. Nice-to-haves: • Working knowledge of core cybersecurity concepts and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, with ability to engage credibly with customer security teams and genuine interest in deepening expertise. • Direct experience completing security questionnaires or supporting customer security due diligence, trust, and assurance requests. • Security certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCSK, CISSP, or CISA. • Experience with GRC or trust management platforms such as Vanta, Drata, or Secureframe, or with security questionnaire automation tools. • Pre-sales experience at an enterprise SaaS company, particularly working with security or IT buyers.
