SpaceX is seeking a Security Analyst (Blue Team) to join its Security Operations Center (SOC) as a frontline responder. In this role, you will identify, triage, and remediate security detections and anomalies targeting SpaceX's critical infrastructure and missions. You will investigate security incidents from initial detection through root cause analysis, collaborate with engineering teams to improve system security, and contribute to developing detection capabilities that counter sophisticated attacker tactics and techniques. Key responsibilities include supporting incident response investigations, collecting and analyzing evidence, enhancing endpoint and network visibility, and developing detection and response playbooks. You will work to protect SpaceX people, missions, and assets against threats from nation states and other actors. Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, IT, or STEM discipline (or 2+ years of professional information security experience), along with hands-on experience in operating system auditing for Linux, Windows, or macOS, and familiarity with network and host-based collection tools. Preferred experience includes understanding of threat actor TTPs, incident response processes, SIEM platforms (Elastic, Splunk), security automation scripting, reverse engineering, forensics, cloud security, and relevant certifications (SANS/GIAC, OSCP). Security community contributions are valued. The role is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires onsite presence; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available. You must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed, and occasional travel to other SpaceX locations may be required. ITAR compliance is mandatory; applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, or eligible to obtain required State Department authorizations.
