Spire is seeking an ambitious Sales Manager to drive revenue growth across the Americas and advance the digitization of the global weather and climate ecosystem. Operating with regional autonomy, you will expand Spire's market presence, leverage the partner ecosystem, and consistently exceed sales targets.
The role focuses on two key segments: (1) the financial sector—energy and commodity trading desks, hedge funds, and quantitative investment firms that use weather as a tradable signal; and (2) the U.S. electric utility and power market—investor-owned utilities, public power authorities, independent power producers, and grid operators who rely on forecast accuracy for load planning, renewable generation, outage response, and grid reliability.
Key responsibilities include owning a territory spanning the Americas (Canada, US, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, and South America); driving growth in financial and utility segments; meeting and exceeding assigned quotas through disciplined prospecting and full-cycle deal execution; building long-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders; using consultative, solution-selling approaches to uncover pain points and propose tailored offerings; developing deep expertise in Spire's data products and platforms; preparing and presenting persuasive proposals; leading commercial negotiations; maintaining accurate CRM pipeline management; tracking industry trends and competitive movements; and collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, product, meteorology, and customer success teams.
Required qualifications: 8+ years in sales, business development, or account management, with focus on data products, SaaS, or API-based solutions; demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets; strong understanding of weather and climate industry or deep experience selling digital transformation into data-driven sectors (financial markets, power and energy, maritime, aviation, agriculture, logistics); proven success selling data, analytics, or alternative data into the financial sector with credibility to engage traders, quants, and research leads; experience selling into US electric utilities, independent power producers, or grid operators with working knowledge of weather's impact on generation, load forecasting, renewable integration, and grid reliability; consultative, value-based selling style with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; ability to build trusted relationships across cultures, time zones, and seniority levels; proficiency with modern sales tools (Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Lusha); self-motivated and results-oriented; fluent in English.
