Rubrik is seeking a Sales Engineer to focus on the SLED K-12 sector, partnering with Account Executives to serve educational institutions within an assigned region. You will evangelize, position, and architect Rubrik's hyper-converged hybrid cloud data management and cyber resilience platform to address the unique data security, compliance, and budget requirements of K-12 schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and direction to SLED customers, K-12 IT leaders, and internal staff in designing fully integrated data protection and cyber resilience solutions
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise on Rubrik's products, distributed architectures, cloud data management, backup/disaster recovery, and competitive storage offerings
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to develop and propose solutions aligned with the specific operational, regulatory, and technical requirements of K-12 and local public sector accounts
- Deliver compelling technical and sales presentations, solution architectures, and live product demonstrations to channel partners, IT staff, school district administration, and CxO-level leadership
- Qualify sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements, competitive landscape, decision-making processes, and public sector funding cycles (e.g., E-Rate / school budget windows)
- Partner with account executives, channel partners, and corporate resources to support regional revenue goals and drive account-level technical engagement
Requirements:
- 1–5 years of sales engineering experience, preferably within software, data center, cybersecurity, or cloud environments
- Experience working with public sector, local government, or K-12 educational institution IT environments and procurement processes is highly desirable
- Fundamental breadth of technical knowledge in cloud data management, cyber resilience, backup/disaster recovery, and data analytics
- Self-motivated, highly energetic, and disciplined to thrive in a high-paced environment, managing virtual sales calls, technical demos, and prompt follow-ups
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and senior executive/district leadership to translate technical capabilities into clear organizational outcomes
- Strong work ethic, resourceful, "get-it-done" attitude with a continuous growth mindset in a fast-paced technology market
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent practical experience
