Union.ai is hiring a Sales Engineer to support pre-sales efforts for Flyte, an open-source data and AI orchestration platform trusted by LinkedIn, Stripe, and Wayve. Reporting to the Head of Sales Engineer, you will lead discovery, demos, and technical solutioning with prospects across mid-market and enterprise segments.
Key responsibilities include: partnering with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to build demonstrable use cases and showcase platform value; owning technical success during customer trials by delivering on success criteria; engaging technical stakeholders in design discussions; qualifying opportunities by mapping technical needs to key features; developing reference architectures and best practices; supporting trials and production deployments through onboarding and debugging; representing the product at conferences and field events; and positioning Union competitively against alternative technologies.
You will work across the full technical stack, from infrastructure design to end-to-end pipeline integration, helping customers optimize their AI workloads at scale across clouds and on-premise environments.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in pre-sales for deeply technical products with multi-level technical sales experience; hands-on experience with data processing, MLOps, and machine learning infrastructure; working knowledge of ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and data processing frameworks (Spark, Flink, Beam); understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Infrastructure as Code, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD; strong organizational skills in high-ambiguity environments; familiarity with MEDDIC sales frameworks; ability to travel to conferences and customer sites with minimal notice.
Desirable: prior involvement in Flyte or Union communities; early-stage startup experience. Must be authorized to work in the US; H-1B transfers reviewed case-by-case. Flexible work schedule with some restrictions; lunch and kitchen provided for in-office days.
