Salary: USD 195,000 - 270,000 / annual
Horizon3.ai is a fast-growing cybersecurity company building NodeZero, an autonomous penetration testing platform that helps organizations proactively discover and remediate exploitable vulnerabilities at scale. The company was founded by former U.S. Special Operations cyber operators and startup engineers, and serves customers from educational institutions to Global 100 enterprises.
As a Sales Engineer, you will be a trusted technical partner embedded in the sales process for mid-market and enterprise deals. You'll work closely with Account Executives to support discovery, solution positioning, and technical validation. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead technical discovery meetings to understand customer infrastructure, security maturity, compliance requirements, and risk priorities
• Deliver tailored, outcome-driven demos and proof-of-value engagements that connect NodeZero capabilities to business impact
• Own technical deal strategy, navigating objections and competitive positioning throughout the sales cycle
• Simplify complex security concepts for both technical practitioners and C-suite executives
• Manage structured PoVs and technical validation cycles
• Maintain customer relationships post-close to ensure smooth handoff, reinforce value realization, and identify expansion opportunities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing to inform roadmap and positioning
• Contribute to internal enablement by refining demo flows, technical assets, and playbooks
You'll bring 5+ years as a Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect, ideally in cybersecurity or infrastructure. You have hands-on experience with mid-market and enterprise accounts, strong cybersecurity fundamentals (threat landscape, vulnerability management, identity, cloud, AD), and the ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent) is required. You must be located in Northern California and have a minimum 25Mbps broadband connection.
