Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations in physical operations—agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, manufacturing—to harness IoT data for actionable insights and operational improvement. This Sales Engineer role supports the Public Sector customer base (City/County/State/Public Schools), including fleets like waste management, city buses, police cars, fire trucks, school buses, and snow plows.
You will be an integral part of a diverse sales engineering team modernizing essential industries through cutting-edge IoT solutions. Your work directly contributes to cleaner, more efficient supply chains by creating safer roadways, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, and providing a consolidated platform for connected operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Becoming an expert on Samsara's IoT, AI, and computer vision products and their real-world applications
- Developing thorough understanding of IoT hardware, sensors, installation strategies, carrier network data collection, cloud infrastructure, and third-party API integrations
- Delivering work products that close deals: discovery calls, product demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations
- Articulating to prospects how businesses like theirs use Samsara to solve industry-specific challenges
- Supporting installers with best practices and deployment guidance
- Building genuine, trust-based relationships with customers in logistics management, workplace safety, fleet maintenance, asset management, and regulatory compliance
