Hex is a collaborative analytics and data science workspace that combines notebooks, apps, BI, and AI-native workflows into a single platform. Enterprise customers like StubHub, Rivian, and Reddit rely on Hex as a core part of their data operations.
As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to data teams and C-level executives (Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers, CIOs, AI deployment leads), helping them evaluate and adopt Hex. You will own the technical sales cycle from discovery through proof of concept and initial deployment, working closely with Account Executives to develop opportunity-level strategy and execute evaluations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships with prospects and end users throughout the sales cycle
- Partnering with Account Executives on deal strategy and technical execution
- Conducting product demos, managing POCs, and overseeing technical reviews (architecture, security)
- Synthesizing customer feedback to inform the product roadmap
- Creating content to support evaluations (demo projects, documentation, videos)
- Traveling to customer sites and marketing events as needed to deliver demos and strengthen relationships
You bring 5+ years of technical pre-sales experience, with a track record of working with Enterprise customers (2500+ employees) on POC and deployment motions. You have familiarity with data science tooling and workflows including Python, SQL, and BI tools, ideally with hands-on experience in notebooks, SQL IDEs, or semantic modeling. You're an excellent communicator who builds empathy with both IC users and senior stakeholders, and you have a generalist technical skillset with a passion for problem-solving. Experience or interest in early-stage startups is valued.
