Torq is a Series D-backed AI SOC platform company experiencing 200% employee growth and 300% revenue growth. They're seeking a Sales Engineer to lead pre-sales strategy and technical evangelism for their AI-native autonomous SecOps platform.
In this role, you'll be the technical bridge between sales and customers, assessing technical business needs and demonstrating how Torq delivers maximum value. You'll lead the Sales Engineering team in following sales methodology, partner with sales leadership and product to drive operational excellence, and ensure the team has the knowledge and tools to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver pre-sales technical expertise and manage sales engineering processes
- Lead the SE team in sales methodology, CRM best practices, and operational accountability
- Partner with sales leadership and product groups to meet quarterly/annual targets
- Provide technical guidance to the sales team
- Deliver compelling presentations to customers and prospects
- Represent Torq at conferences, forums, and industry events as a thought leader
- Collaborate across functional areas to ensure solutions align with client expectations
- Provide product feedback to the product management team
You'll need 5+ years in pre-sales/solutions engineering for SaaS security products (SecOps, SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, AI SOC). Deep security domain knowledge is essential. You must have working fluency with agentic AI systems, including multi-agent architectures, reasoning, tool calling, MCP, and prompt engineering. Hands-on experience building demo environments, POCs, integrations, and custom workflows using AI tooling is required.
You should understand AI trust and governance in enterprise contexts: explainability, audit trails, approval gates, blast-radius limits, reversibility, and data handling. Familiarity with the AI SOC competitive landscape and modern SOC operating models (triage, investigation, case management, Tier 1–3 workflows, MTTD/MTTR) is critical.
Technical skills include public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) hands-on knowledge, Python/PowerShell/bash, REST APIs, JSON, and webhook-based integrations. Prior experience selling cybersecurity solutions (SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, Cloud Security, Identity, Email Security) is required. You'll need outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, proven success with Fortune 1000 companies, excellent project management skills, and the ability to influence technical decision makers. Frequent travel and event participation are expected. Based in Denver area with regular on-site presence required.
