Artemis is an AI-driven cybersecurity defense platform backed by First Round Capital and Brightmind, founded by veterans from Palo Alto Networks, AWS, Demisto, Abnormal Security, and Twitter. The company is building next-generation AI capabilities to help enterprises detect and defend against advanced cyber threats in an era where AI fights AI on the cyber battlefield.
As a Sales Engineer, you'll be the technical force behind customer-facing sales motions. You'll partner closely with Account Executives to win complex enterprise deals, leading deep technical discovery sessions and demonstrating how Artemis solves real security problems for SOC analysts, security engineers, and CISOs.
Key responsibilities include: conducting technical deep dives and tailored demos for enterprise security teams; running structured technical discovery to understand customer security posture, existing tooling (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, identity), and integration requirements; designing and validating customer-specific solutions; serving as the primary technical owner in pre-sales; answering complex questions about product architecture, detection logic, scalability, and deployment; supporting pilots and POVs in customer environments; addressing technical objections and advising on best-practice deployment strategies; leading responses to security questionnaires, RFPs, and vendor risk reviews (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA); collaborating with Product, Engineering, Security Research, and RevOps teams; and ensuring smooth handoffs to post-sales while contributing to pre-sales playbooks and technical messaging.
You'll need 5+ years in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar pre-sales technical role in B2B cybersecurity. Strong understanding of modern security architecture (identity, endpoint, network, cloud), SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, detection frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK), and threat modeling is essential. Comfort with APIs, scripting (Python, Bash), and query languages (KQL, SPL, SQL) required. You should excel at explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, thrive in high-stakes sales environments, and manage multiple deals and stakeholders simultaneously. Background in security implementations, technical program management, customer onboarding, or post-sale handoffs is a plus. Relevant certifications (OSCP, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, cloud security certs) and prior software engineering or hands-on cybersecurity experience (SOC/detection engineering, incident response, offensive security) are valued.
