Salary: USD 170,000 - 210,000 / annual

Astranis is seeking a Sales Director to lead international government and defense sales, owning capture strategy and deal execution for foreign militaries, ministries of defense, and government agencies globally. This cross-regional role spans all international markets and operates independently from the US Government sales team. Key responsibilities include building and managing a global pipeline of foreign government and military opportunities; leading responses to RFIs, RFPs, and formal government procurement processes in partnership with technical and proposal teams; developing deep expertise in foreign government procurement cycles, procurement law, offsets, and decision-making structures; building senior relationships with defense and government stakeholders, attachés, primes, and channel partners; and traveling internationally to support business development, negotiations, and customer relationships. You will coordinate with the USG team where applicable, partner with Network Planning, finance, operations, legal teams to develop strategic pursuits, support pricing and deal structuring for sovereign and defense capacity agreements, and deliver accurate pipeline forecasting and reporting to Commercial leadership. Required qualifications include a proven track record selling to foreign militaries or international government agencies (satcom, defense, or secure comms preferred); strong knowledge of government and military procurement including RFI/RFP cycles; existing network within target markets' defense and procurement communities; comfort with frequent international travel on short notice; technical fluency in satcom architecture and capacity; and comfort operating in high-security, compliance-sensitive (ITAR/EAR) environments. Foreign language proficiency is strongly preferred. Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, providing dedicated, secure networks to large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. The company has five satellites on orbit with many more launching soon, servicing a backlog of over $1 billion in commercial contracts. Astranis has raised over $750 million from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Blackrock, and Fidelity, and employs 450 engineers and entrepreneurs from its 153,000 sq. ft. Northern California headquarters.
