Toptal is a global network of top talent in business, design, and technology with $200+ million in annual revenue. As a Sales Development Representative on the Staffing team, you will drive business growth by identifying and qualifying opportunities with target clients in the Enterprise and SMB segments. You will own the early-stage sales process: prospecting through cold outreach, lead generation, and relationship nurturing to set qualified meetings for the sales team. Your responsibilities include understanding client needs through exploratory conversations, researching industry trends and client challenges, and collaborating with Staffing Sales Executives to pursue opportunities. You'll use tools like Salesforce, ZoomInfo, SalesLoft, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to execute outreach via calls, emails, and LinkedIn messaging. The role emphasizes building deep client and industry knowledge across key staffing verticals including Manufacturing, Logistics & Distribution, Industrial, Engineering, Healthcare, E-commerce & Retail, and Skilled Trades. You will be expected to think critically about client challenges, uncover new opportunities within existing and target accounts, and continuously improve demand generation tactics. Success requires hitting activity quotas (calls, emails, outreach) and revenue-generating engagement metrics. In your first week, you'll onboard and learn Toptal's model, value proposition, and sales process. By month one, you'll complete sales training (mock calls, role-play), master the CRM and outreach tools, and begin targeting strategic accounts. By three months, you should be fully ramped and hitting quotas. Within six months, you'll assist with training new SDRs and experiment with new lead generation activities. By year one, you'll mentor new team members and have built a portfolio of net new accounts. This is a fully remote, US-based position. You must be authorized to work in the US at hire; visa sponsorship is not available. All resumes and communication must be submitted in English. Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required - 1–3 years of experience as an Enterprise SDR within the Staffing industry or related staffing verticals - Broad understanding of business challenges in Enterprise staffing verticals (Manufacturing, Logistics & Distribution, Industrial, Engineering, Healthcare, E-commerce & Retail, Skilled Trades) - Critical thinking and ability to identify opportunities from unsigned clients and accounts - Perseverance, passion for sales, and comfort with rejection - Curiosity about people, problems, companies, and industries - Conscientiousness and ability to handle technical discussions - High motivation and drive for personal/professional improvement - Resourcefulness and self-starter mentality; ability to own accounts and drive results - Proactive approach aligned with company mission - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences and geographies - Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities - Ownership mindset for accounts, successes, and failures - Problem-solving ability and resilience in face of setbacks - Prioritization and time-management skills - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency with digital collaboration tools - Must be a world-class individual contributor
