Wordsmith is a legal operations platform for in-house legal teams, backed by $100M in funding from Index Ventures, General Catalyst, and Highland Europe. The company serves over 500 customers including Financial Times, Canva, and Starling, and is building AI-powered solutions to help legal teams manage requests, automate routine work, and reduce external counsel spend. As a Sales Development Representative, you will be the frontline of Wordsmith's outbound growth engine. Your primary responsibility is to identify target accounts, execute compelling outreach campaigns, and book high-quality meetings with in-house legal leaders and general counsel. You'll work closely with Account Executives and Marketing to build a predictable pipeline and ensure smooth handoffs to closing teams. Key responsibilities include: building and executing targeted outbound campaigns via email, cold calling, and LinkedIn; consistently hitting and exceeding monthly meeting-booked and pipeline targets; partnering with AEs on account strategy; serving as a feedback loop for Marketing and Product on messaging resonance; and maintaining meticulous CRM data and activity tracking. You should have SaaS sales or lead generation experience, with a preference for background in legal, finance, or compliance sectors. The ideal candidate combines a relentless work ethic with strong written and verbal communication skills, high curiosity and coachability, and genuine ownership mentality. You view rejection as data, not a deterrent, and thrive in fast-moving, early-stage environments where priorities shift and playbooks aren't always clear. Wordsmith operates as an in-office team in Edinburgh. This is a high-performance culture that moves quickly, sets a high bar, and expects people to take ownership. You'll be expected to be in the office or visiting clients as your default. The company is in a period of strong momentum with growing customer wins and expanding account sizes.
