SPAN is an AI-native developer intelligence platform helping engineering organizations maximize their adoption and effectiveness of AI tools. The Sales Development Representative will be the engine of SPAN's outbound lead generation efforts, working closely with the Growth Lead and sales team to identify, engage, and qualify potential customers in the mid-market and enterprise segments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute multi-channel outbound campaigns across LinkedIn, email, and cold calling to identify and engage potential customers
- Conduct account-based marketing (ABM) research to understand decision makers' needs, pain points, and fit for SPAN's platform
- Schedule discovery calls and coordinate handoffs to the sales team
- Collaborate with the Growth Lead to design and run outbound experiments, testing messaging and strategy variations
- Develop and refine repeatable sales playbooks through testing and iteration
- Track and report weekly on outbound activities, experiment results, and key metrics
- Provide market feedback to Growth, Marketing, Sales, and Product teams
Required qualifications:
- Proven experience as an SDR in mid-market and/or enterprise environments
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or similarly rigorous quantitative field
- Demonstrated ability to draft, implement, and optimize cold outbound sequences
- Track record of hitting metrics and targets at previous organizations
- Strong cold calling skills with comfort engaging new prospects and converting leads to qualified pipeline
- Self-motivated, fast-paced startup mentality
- Proficiency with CRMs and outbound prospecting tools
Bonus experience includes SaaS sales development in technical industries (selling to engineering leadership), process documentation and metrics reporting, team lead or senior SDR background, familiarity with automation and GTM engineering tools like Clay or Unify, and experience with Slack, Outreach, and HubSpot.
