Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, delivering empirical geospatial data via a cloud-based platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. The company controls every component of hardware design, manufacturing, data processing, and software engineering.
You will join Planet's sales organization as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) based in San Francisco, supporting Account Executives in building a closable pipeline for new logos in the North America territory. This hybrid role requires 3 days per week in the San Francisco office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own a territory and develop high-quality accounts and leads aligned with Planet's ideal client profile, directly contributing to topline growth
- Collaborate with dedicated Account Executives and field marketers to drive strategic engagement through targeted sequences and multi-threading
- Master Planet's product ecosystem and key verticals to provide compelling introductions and seamless handoffs
- Research accounts using tools like ZoomInfo and industry publications to identify stakeholders, generate interest, and develop account plans
You bring 2+ years of sales experience (or comparable background), a bachelor's degree, and proven ability to prospect SaaS products to F2000, global, and government accounts. You excel at learning complex topics, crafting compelling messaging, building rapport, and maintaining strong written and verbal communication. You're proactive, independent, and consistently achieve performance targets.
Standout qualifications include domain expertise in GEOINT, satellite imaging, or remote sensing; experience with enterprise or government sales; familiarity with MEDDPICC or similar sales methodologies; and proficiency with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and email automation tools. Prior vertical experience in agriculture, energy, state/local government, or universities is valued.
