OpenGov is seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join its Atlanta office and drive pipeline generation for its AI-powered ERP platform serving 2,000+ local and state government organizations across the U.S. In this role, you will be the front line of OpenGov's mission to modernize government operations. You'll own a territory and build pipeline through high-volume outbound prospecting—calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach—targeting city, county, state, and special district decision-makers. You'll become fluent in OpenGov's cloud-based platform, which solves real problems in asset management, procurement, accounting, budgeting, permitting, and revenue management. Key responsibilities include: researching market trends and identifying fresh opportunities; partnering with Account Executives to develop territory strategy and qualify opportunities for demos; using Salesforce and Outreach to manage pipeline and daily activity; communicating OpenGov's value persuasively to government leaders; maintaining high-volume, high-quality prospecting; attending trade shows and government events to build relationships; and collaborating with marketing on lead conversion. What makes this role distinctive: OpenGov has a clear promotion path from SDR to Account Executive for high performers who own their development. The company runs performance competitions with meaningful rewards (recent winners earned 2026 World Cup tickets). The mission is tangible—your work directly impacts how 2,000+ communities operate. OpenGov is at the forefront of bringing AI into public sector operations, and the company is looking for SDRs who are genuinely excited about that opportunity. You should have 0–2 years of relevant experience (sales, customer-facing roles, internships, retail, service industry all count), be a natural communicator confident with cold outreach, and have genuine curiosity about technology and government. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Familiarity with CRM tools and background in B2B, SaaS, finance, or government is a bonus but not required. The role is based in Atlanta with in-office expectations.
