Handshake is a career platform powering 25 million job seekers, 1 million+ employers, and 1,600 educational institutions. The company recently launched Handshake AI, a rapidly growing AI data business working with frontier AI labs and Fortune 500 partners, scaling from $0 to ~$1B run rate in 2025.
You will join the Employer SDR team as a Sales Development Representative, serving as the first point of contact for prospective employer partners. This is a metrics-driven role focused on building qualified pipeline through consistent, high-quality outreach and maintaining professional standards in every interaction.
Key responsibilities include: consistently hitting or exceeding monthly targets (with ramping quotas from Month 2 onward); generating and qualifying high-volume outbound opportunities through personalized, thoughtful outreach; managing and converting inbound leads quickly while maintaining context and professionalism; partnering closely with Account Executives on territory plans, messaging, and deal strategy; accurately tracking activity and insights in Salesforce, Gong, and Outreach; and reflecting weekly on performance to identify improvements.
The ideal candidate has 6–12 months of SDR experience or equivalent quota-driven background (consulting, closing, operations). You must demonstrate proven quota attainment, advanced written communication skills, resilience after setbacks, complete ownership of results, coachability, and the ability to manage high activity volume without sacrificing quality. You should bring curiosity and composure to conversations with senior leaders and be motivated by measurable impact.
Bonus qualifications include consulting or operations experience, performance-based internship background, prior hiring through Handshake, and familiarity with Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, or Gong.
