Anduril Industries is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team, which develops multi-asset autonomy systems for military applications. The team focuses on making large groups of autonomous systems work effectively together, leveraging Anduril drone platforms like Ghost and Altius while integrating third-party platforms into the Lattice ecosystem. In this role, you will design, develop, and integrate software that connects autonomous platforms with mission payloads, including stores management systems (SMS), networked devices, and hardware interfaces. You will architect APIs and data transport layers that move information reliably between vehicles, payloads, and ground systems in demanding operational environments. Key responsibilities include: - Developing networked software that interacts with networking devices, managed networks, and router/switch hardware - Designing and implementing software interfaces with stores management systems and payload subsystems to coordinate munitions and mission payload control - Architecting APIs and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) using HTTP, REST, and gRPC to connect distributed systems across vehicles, payloads, and ground stations - Building and optimizing low-level data transport over UDP and TCP for reliable, low-latency communication in constrained operational environments - Writing code that interfaces directly with hardware, bridging embedded devices, sensors, and payload electronics with autonomy software - Collaborating cross-functionally with hardware, systems, vehicle, and payload teams - Traveling up to 25% to test, debug, and deploy systems in operational environments - Contributing across the entire software lifecycle from prototyping through deployment - Troubleshooting and resolving issues in deployed systems Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. You must have 3+ years of hands-on experience developing production-grade software in C++ and/or Rust, with strong experience in networking software, API/ICD design, low-level data transport (UDP/TCP), and hardware interfacing. Systems-level thinking, passion for mission-critical software, travel flexibility, and eligibility for US security clearance are essential.
