Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company developing advanced autonomous systems and AI-powered command and control platforms for military applications. The Maneuver Dominance team builds aerial robotic systems designed to operate in large coordinated teams alongside ground forces, focusing on perception, autonomy, and command-and-control (C2) systems.
In this role, you will own core software solutions deployed to customers, writing code to improve products and scale mission capabilities. You'll collaborate across multiple disciplines to plan, build, and test complex functionality involving autonomous ground and air vehicles. Key responsibilities include creating and analyzing metrics for debugging and monitoring, triaging issues and coordinating root-cause analysis, and partnering with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints.
You'll work on portable C2 systems integration and contribute to real-world testing and deployment, with travel up to 25% expected. The role emphasizes high ownership, hands-on problem-solving, and self-direction, with growth potential and leadership opportunities.
Required qualifications include a strong engineering background (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics), proficiency with C++, Rust, or Python, and experience building data-intensive software solutions. You must be able to quickly understand complex systems and established codebases, and be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
Desired experience includes backgrounds in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning; developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments; feature and algorithm development with behavior trees; flight systems and safety-critical software; and distributed communication networks.
