The company partners with industry leaders including SoftBank, Uber, Rivian, CLEAR, and Sutter Health, and is headquartered in San Francisco with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia. Founded by Bret Taylor (former Salesforce co-CEO, Google Maps co-creator, OpenAI Board Chair) and Clay Bavor (18-year Google veteran who led Google Labs and AR/VR initiatives), Sierra is seeking a Revenue and Billing Lead to own critical finance operations as the company scales. In this role, you will own the complete revenue close process, including maintaining revenue policy, reviewing customer contracts and consumption reports, and preparing monthly revenue journal entries in accordance with ASC 606. You'll manage customer onboarding by coordinating internal and external stakeholders, building processes to collect purchase orders timely, and ensuring RFP questionnaires and portal access are properly handled. You will establish scaling systems and processes to ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing, coordinating with tax to properly collect and remit taxes. You'll own the customer collections process end-to-end, creating and maintaining dashboards to track status, ensuring timely follow-up on past due invoices, and developing communication and escalation processes. A key aspect of this role is proactive involvement in finance transformation initiatives, leveraging AI and modern tooling to scale the function. You'll enhance the tech stack to enable the latest AI technology, challenge existing processes, and develop an AI-first approach to finance operations. You're proficient in US GAAP and ASC 606, with the ability to identify improvement areas and build solutions using AI. You're a structured, self-directed, detail-oriented builder and problem solver who can design processes from scratch, run them, and improve them iteratively. You have a bias for simplifying and automating processes and a passion for building an AI-native finance function. Ideal candidates have previous IPO experience with enterprise B2B software companies, a CPA license and/or Big 4 experience, and proficiency with modern office of the CFO tech stacks.
