The Nuclear Company is a Series A AI-enabled startup pioneering next-generation nuclear reactor deployment through a design-once, build-many model. As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will be the first dedicated AR resource, building and running the company's billing and receivables operations from the ground up.
You will own the complete accounts receivable function, including customer invoicing, cash application, unbilled receivables tracking, reconciliations, and AR close and reporting. The company's receivables profile is characterized by low-volume, high-complexity contract-governed service billings, joint venture cost reimbursements, and intercompany settlements—requiring deep attention to billing accuracy, contract-to-cash discipline, and cash visibility rather than high-volume collections.
Key responsibilities include:
• Billing & Contract-to-Cash: Own customer invoicing end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms (milestone, time-and-materials, cost-reimbursable structures). Partner with Legal and Business Development to capture billing requirements at contract signing.
• Accounts Receivable Operations: Manage cash application, account reconciliation, credit adjustments, and resolution of billing discrepancies across a multi-entity structure.
• Intercompany & Joint Venture Billing: Prepare and manage cost reimbursement, fee, and intercompany billings, including settlement tracking and supporting documentation.
• Unbilled Receivables & Revenue Coordination: Track unbilled receivables and contract assets; coordinate with Technical Accounting to ensure billing aligns with ASC 606 revenue recognition treatment.
• Process Design & Automation: Design the billing architecture and build receivables processes, controls, and automation to scale without proportional headcount growth as revenue streams expand.
• AR Close & Reporting: Execute month-end and quarter-end close activities, prepare AR aging and metrics reporting, and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
