Alan is a European digital health insurance leader (€950M+ revenue, 1M+ members across France, Belgium, Spain, Canada) that acquired Tanel, West Africa's first francophone digital health insurance platform, in 2026. Tanel operates in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire with 30,000+ members, 1,200+ healthcare facilities, and 400+ pharmacies in its network, achieving 7x revenue growth in 2025. Together, they are building the reference health insurance provider for francophone West Africa, targeting $200M revenue by 2030. The Finance team at Alan builds the financial foundation for a rapidly growing digital health insurance company operating in markets where infrastructure is still being built. Core responsibilities include producing reliable financial information for each entity, maintaining audit-ready accounts, and providing leadership with trustworthy figures for decision-making. As Accountant, you will manage daily accounting operations for Alan's West African entities—a high-volume role requiring precision and speed. You will report to the Financial Manager and coordinate with external audit firms. Key responsibilities include: daily accounting entry (purchases, sales, receipts, disbursements) using accounting software (Sage, Odoo) following SYSCOHADA chart of accounts; bank and cash reconciliations, third-party account matching, and accrual tracking; monthly close participation and preparation of supporting documentation for the Financial Manager and external firms; contribution to tax filings (VAT) and payment tracking with the accounting firm; identification of repetitive tasks and proposal of automation solutions (imports, templates, scripts) to accelerate data entry and improve reliability. You will join a small finance team where consistency and attention to detail are critical. This is a unique opportunity to participate in transforming healthcare delivery across West Africa, building operational infrastructure for a company scaling from 30,000 to hundreds of thousands of members across multiple countries. You will experience startup energy and see direct impact on people's lives in a market where almost everything remains to be built.
