Strava is a global community platform for active people with over 200 million athletes across 185+ countries. The Retention Marketing team drives subscription value through lifecycle marketing and experimentation, and this role bridges Product Marketing (PMM) and Lifecycle Marketing as GTM velocity accelerates. You'll own the connection between GTM launches and retention programs, translating product briefs into scoped plans, targetable audiences, and experiment designs. You'll represent Retention in GTM alignment forums with PMM, MarTech, and Data teams, project-managing launches from creative handover through post-campaign analysis. You'll partner with lifecycle marketers to route GTM opportunities into existing programs or build new repeatable ones. As the first dedicated hire in this pod, you'll be hands-on from day one: running launches end-to-end, building campaigns in the martech stack (Iterable, Braze, Kevel), and shaping the playbook as you go. Key responsibilities include owning brief intake and early-stage scoping, driving GTM channel strategy and experimentation plans, translating briefs into targetable audiences, designing and running A/B tests, meeting with lifecycle marketers on quarterly goals, bridging Product Engineering and MarTech tooling, applying PMM's tiering structure for consistent launches, and supporting seasonal campaigns. You'll bring 4-6 years of hands-on experience across growth, lifecycle, or product marketing with fluency in both worlds. You have a track record of designing and running experiments with clear success metrics and fair test structures. Excellent project management skills enable you to manage multiple concurrent launches and keep cross-functional partners aligned. You've partnered with data or engineering teams to translate briefs into audiences and flag gaps early. You have a builder's mindset and hands-on experience building and QAing campaigns in marketing automation platforms. Familiarity with subscription or freemium models is a plus. The role is deliberately hands-on initially, with clear growth trajectory: as the pod matures, you'll move from running each launch yourself to owning the system others run through, codifying execution and measurement, turning activations into repeatable playbooks, and holding senior relationships across Product and PMM. Strava is backed by Sequoia Capital, TCV, Madrone Partners, and Jackson Square Ventures. The company follows a flexible hybrid model requiring more than half your time on-site in San Francisco or New York City, three days per week.
