Strava is seeking a Retention Marketing Manager to bridge Product Marketing and Lifecycle Marketing functions as the company scales its go-to-market (GTM) velocity. With over 200 million athletes globally, Strava is the platform where active people track workouts, connect with communities, and achieve personal goals.
You will own the intersection of GTM strategy and lifecycle marketing execution. Your core responsibilities include: representing Retention in GTM alignment forums with Product Marketing, MarTech, and Data teams; translating GTM briefs into scoped plans, targetable audiences, and experiment designs; and project-managing launches from creative handover through post-campaign analysis. You'll partner with lifecycle marketers to integrate new product launches into existing programs and build repeatable playbooks where needed.
As the first dedicated hire in this new pod, you'll be hands-on from day one. You'll run launches end-to-end, build campaigns directly in the martech stack (Iterable, Braze, Kevel), design and execute A/B tests with clear success metrics, and translate GTM briefs into actionable audience segments. You'll also support seasonal and brand-led campaigns such as marathon upsells, gifting moments, and back-to-school promotions.
The role requires 4–6 years of hands-on experience in growth, lifecycle, or product marketing, with fluency in both disciplines. You should have a proven track record designing and running experiments, strong project management skills to juggle concurrent launches, and experience partnering with data and engineering teams. Hands-on experience building campaigns in marketing automation platforms is essential. Familiarity with subscription or freemium business models is a plus.
As the pod matures, your scope will expand from executing individual launches to owning the system others run through—codifying GTM execution, turning activations into repeatable playbooks, and holding senior relationships across Product and PMM. The role is deliberately structured to grow with the business.
Strava operates a flexible hybrid model requiring more than half your time on-site in San Francisco or New York City, three days per week.
