Botpress is an AI agent platform for customer support, building AI agents that resolve support tickets at scale. The company is Series B-funded and pursuing a sales-led growth model.
You will own demand generation for enterprise and mid-market accounts, building predictable pipeline through experimentation and multi-channel approaches. The company is transparent about its stage: the product is proven, the target customer is clear, but the most effective channels are still being discovered. You will manage a portfolio of initiatives with some proven channels and several experiments in flight, with the expectation that you kill what doesn't work early and communicate clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Events: curate and lead private invitation-only events and presence at major industry conferences (branded dinners, off-site activations). You own the vision—where Botpress shows up, why, and who sits at the table. Marketing leads strategy; Sales brings attendees.
- Direct mail and gifting campaigns
- Account-based marketing (ABM): targeted campaigns against a named account list, from first touch through sales handoff
- Paid media: manage budget (modest, must prove ROI incrementally) via agency or in-house
- Outbound engine inputs: targeting, segmentation, messaging, and content for BDR sequences; you own list strategy and prospecting alongside the BDR team
- Acquisition experiment portfolio: what to test, in what order, and what you learn
- Agency and vendor management: briefing, budgeting, and decisions to retain, sunset, or internalize
First 90 Days:
- Improve paid ad performance
- Launch an in-person AI workshop for target accounts
- Run a direct mail campaign experiment
- Decide whether to retain or internalize the outbound vendor
- Build initial ABM plays on the named account list with the CRO and Sales
- Integrate podcast, events, and outbound into a cohesive multi-threaded motion so target accounts hear from Botpress repeatedly
You report to the VP Growth/Marketing, who provides monthly strategic 1:1s, bi-weekly coaching, and rapid, precise feedback. You work daily with the CRO and Sales team, plus the partnerships lead, design lead, and external agencies. The BDR team sits in Sales; you own list and prospecting strategy alongside them. Target account selection is made jointly by Marketing, Sales, and the CEO.
The marketing team is small, senior, and highly operational, covering growth, product-led growth, SEO, content, brand, design, and product marketing. Paid media and outbound are managed through agencies you oversee. The team grows through AI leverage, not headcount—everyone builds their own AI agents on Botpress's platform, and bi-weekly Marketing AI Open Hours showcase new builds.
Requirements:
- Curious and strategic thinker who pulls threads (why, what would prove it, what's the smallest test). You form a point of view, then run the experiment anyway.
- Strong follow-through: you finish what you start and close the loop without reminders.
- Action-oriented and skilled at delegation. You cover more ground by briefing agencies, freelancers, agents, and colleagues well.
- 80/20 instinct: you spot the few high-impact levers and start there. You test the minimum viable version of an initiative before scaling.
- Expert in at least one channel (e.g., paid media) but willing to improvise across others. You can build an event or direct mail campaign from scratch and want to.
- Heavy AI user. This is the team and company ethos. Explain how you'd enrich the team with AI-powered thinking, processes, and agents. If you don't lean heavily on AI, this role is not for you.
- Balance data and instinct. You read the numbers and trust your read of a room, account, or message. You can articulate which you used and why.
- Intellectual humility. You easily say "I was wrong, here's what changed my mind." We'll ask about a failure you're genuinely proud of and something you built that bothers you a bit.
