Anduril Industries is seeking a Research Scientist to develop state-of-the-art algorithms and software for mission-critical defense applications. You will work in a small, innovative team to create mathematically principled solutions to complex information science problems, with a focus on real-world deployment rather than academic publication alone. Key responsibilities include: contributing technical direction and expertise to your team; designing and prototyping advanced algorithms in an agile environment; implementing high-performance software across tactical systems and web applications; using modeling, simulation, and flexible compute clusters to validate technology benefits; engaging directly with government and industry customers to ensure mission success; and communicating complex technical concepts to both expert and non-expert audiences. You will leverage your deep expertise in applied mathematics, controls, signal processing, machine learning, and scientific computing. The role emphasizes the transition from research to deployed systems powered by Lattice OS, Anduril's AI-powered operating system for real-time command and control. Required qualifications: M.S. or Ph.D. in Applied/Computational Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Controls and Dynamical Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Statistics, or related field. Demonstrated excellence in applied mathematics (differential equations, linear algebra, numerical analysis, optimization), engineering (controls, estimation theory, signal processing, machine learning), scientific computing (software design, algorithm implementation, testing, optimization), and probability/statistics. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
