Applied Intuition is seeking Research Scientists to join its Research Group, which focuses on creating cutting-edge technology for next-generation physical AI, particularly in autonomous driving and robotic systems. The company is valued at $15 billion and serves 18 of the top 20 global automakers, the US military, and operates across automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture sectors.
In this role, you will conduct research on 3D vision topics including 3D/world-action foundation models, multi-modal pretraining, feed-forward Gaussian splatting, and world foundation models with applications to autonomous driving. You'll work closely with other Research Scientists and interns on research publications for top-tier conferences like CVPR and ICRA. Collaboration with Research Engineers and engineering teams will be essential to test and deploy algorithms into autonomy and simulation products.
You'll have access to millions of miles of data from large fleets and the opportunity to deploy your research directly into autonomous vehicles, trucks, mining/construction machines, humanoid robots, and dexterous hands. Your improvements will immediately impact customer programs and deliver business value.
Required qualifications include a strong research record in 3D vision, reconstruction, and generation for autonomous systems with publications in top-tier venues. An MSc or PhD in machine learning and computer vision with autonomy/robotics applications is required. You must demonstrate passion for scalable autonomy and robotics, strong research skills for independent and collaborative work, and technical proficiency in Python, PyTorch, computer vision, robotics systems, and distributed machine learning training.
Nice-to-have experience includes 3D foundation models, multi-modal foundation models, feed-forward Gaussian splatting, world foundation models, and 3D/multi-view end-to-end models for autonomous driving or robotics.
Applied Intuition is an in-office company with expectations of 5 days per week in the Sunnyvale office, though occasional flexibility is provided. The company has offices globally including Washington D.C., San Diego, London, Stuttgart, Munich, Stockholm, Bangalore, Seoul, and Tokyo.
