Anthropic is seeking a Research & Education Sales Lead to drive adoption of Claude among research institutes, research-intensive universities, and K-12 educators globally. This is a player-coach role combining hands-on deal execution with team leadership. You will own Anthropic's research and education enterprise business end-to-end: strategy, target account selection, complex institutional deal closure, and team direction. You'll personally lead the most intricate deals involving procurement, security review, and grant-funded budgets while coaching account executives covering education accounts. Your credibility in rooms with scientists and educators is essential—you understand how research is funded, how universities make decisions, and what it takes for education software to land at scale. Key responsibilities include co-designing research and education strategy; serving as lead on complex institutional deals; directing and coaching account executives; building repeatable playbooks for pilot-to-campus expansion; owning pipeline metrics and institutional activation targets; bringing deployment learnings and academic buying realities to product teams; and coordinating with product-led growth motions. You bring education or research SaaS sales experience with closed institutional agreements at universities or research institutes. You have a science background—either trained/worked in a scientific field or spent meaningful time selling to or building for scientists. You've led a sales business end-to-end as a team lead, player-coach, or strategic book owner. Preferred: experience with research funding mechanisms, track record expanding from single departments to campus-wide agreements, and familiarity with AI applications in research and K-12 settings.
