GeologicAI is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to lead safe, reliable, and efficient execution of geological core scanning operations across North America. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead operators who run high-resolution scanning of geological drill core at client mine sites in Canada and the United States, owning the people, equipment, and processes that deliver consistent customer results.
You will oversee the full scanning workflow from equipment deployment and site setup through daily execution and data quality at permanent facilities and remote client-managed locations. Your workforce spans direct employees and contractors deployed across two countries, working largely remotely with periodic site visits (30-40% travel expected, mostly to project and mine sites). You will exercise day-to-day leadership remotely, requiring strong capability in setting expectations, coaching, and holding people accountable without regular in-person contact.
This is both a build and operating role. Processes, training systems, metrics, and organizational interfaces are still maturing, and you will help establish them. What you build in North America has potential to become the global standard.
Key responsibilities include: leading operators, supervisors, and regional support personnel across both countries; workforce planning including hiring, onboarding, training, certification, succession planning, and retention; owning daily operational execution including uptime, throughput, and field quality; taking line responsibility for safety in the field; leading escalation and resolution of operational risks; supporting new project deployments and commissioning; managing performance against KPIs for throughput, utilization, downtime, cost, and service quality; partnering with Project Managers on customer commitments; making cross-functional interfaces work between Regional Operations, Project Management, and Fleet Performance; supporting regional financial results through labour efficiency and cost control; identifying customer expansion opportunities for the BD team; and driving implementation of CMMS, training platforms, and operational controls.
You are described as a builder-operator who can run today's business while building systems for the next stage. You use KPIs, structured reviews, and root-cause problem solving to simplify work and clarify accountability. Safety is your responsibility, not delegated to H&S. You have run field work on both sides of the Canada-US border and understand how the two environments differ. You build capability in early-career operators rather than becoming the permanent troubleshooter. You are low-ego but decisive, make cross-functional interfaces work, and take customer and mine-site leadership seriously.
Occasional international travel may be required beyond North America.
