Wave Mobile Money is a fintech company on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent. You will lead Wave's user growth and distribution strategy for the Niger region. This is a people-management role overseeing a team of supervisors and field-based distributors responsible for user acquisition and retention.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a team of supervisors/team leads who oversee field-based distributors recruiting new users to Wave's financial products
- Identify and resolve critical blockers to user growth and maintain active usage in assigned areas
- Develop and execute strategies to boost retention of newly acquired users
- Hire, train, and manage distribution team members; build systems to rapidly scale distribution
- Build quarterly roadmaps for the distribution team to achieve key objectives and grow the customer base in Niger
- Use data to inform distribution strategies and monitor team performance
- Work closely with the agency team to align objectives and operationalize strategies
- Contribute to Wave's broader distribution strategy by sharing insights and learnings
- Lead by embodying Wave's values and ensuring they are ingrained within your team

Requirements:
- 4+ years of relevant work experience, specifically managing field teams or user acquisition teams based in the field
- 2+ years of experience designing strategies for user acquisition for a telecom, payment service provider, FMCG, or financial institution
- 2+ years' experience managing large teams (50+ people)
- Previous experience in sales, business development, or team management
- Proficiency in English (primary language for reporting and cross-regional communication)
- Fluency in French and a local language is a plus
- Work authorization in Niger is required
- Willingness to relocate to other regions if needed
