Wave is a fintech company on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent by building accessible financial services. You will join Wave's Mali team as a Business Development Manager, reporting to the WAEMU Head of Business Development. This is a high-impact role focused on driving Wave's growth and market expansion in Mali through strategic partnerships and relationship building. Key Responsibilities: - Form, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with banks, telcos, bill payment companies, international remittance companies, and other key players essential to Wave's operations - Build and cultivate relationships with partners to enable Wave's growth and effective operations in Mali - Source business partnerships for Wave's payment products - Identify and liaise with decision-makers at partner organizations to align with Wave's business needs - Supervise communication and coordination between partners and Wave's internal teams (Product, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Marketing) You will work from Wave's Bamako office with potential travel to field locations within Mali. Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar business development or partnership role at a bank, telco, international remittance company, or fintech - Fluent in both French and English - Secondary degree education in Communications, Telecommunications, Finance, International Relations, Business Management, or comparable field - Work authorization in Mali Preferred Qualifications: - Strong professional network in Mali within Mobile Money, Banking, Telecom, Insurance, or B2B sales sectors - Demonstrated success identifying and engaging strategic partners and pursuing mutually beneficial opportunities - Comfort operating in both formal boardroom settings and hands-on operational environments - Experience working at international companies - Strong attention to detail, autonomy, tenacity, and commitment to excellence
