Swarm Aero is building the world's largest swarming UAV network and Command & Control software to mobilize thousands of heterogeneous autonomous assets. The company is launching its first aircraft designed specifically for swarming, with a team experienced from Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic.
As the Aircraft Commercial and Civil Development Lead, you will own a portfolio of commercial and civil market opportunities for Gamera, the company's long-range, heavy-payload, low-cost-per-flight-hour autonomous aircraft. You will be responsible for understanding customer needs at first principles, representing their operational requirements internally to engineering teams, and identifying and shaping market opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning your portfolio from day one with immediate real responsibility
- Sitting with customers to deeply understand their missions, constraints, and operational context
- Staying technically engaged with product development, working closely with Swarm engineers to build for customer needs
- Finding, evaluating, and shaping opportunities worth pursuing
- Writing white papers, proposals, presentations, and analysis that drive internal and external decisions
- Managing complex accounts and relationships as the company and your portfolio scale
- Traveling 25-75% as required
You will work directly with customers and interface closely with engineering teams to capture opportunities in commercial and civil markets that have never been offered this combination of capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated track record of moving with urgency to make big things happen
- Experience working on complex hardware and software systems
- Background managing complex technical projects
- Experience in business development, productization, and contracting
- Strong writing and research skills
- Comfortable setting and achieving goals in an amorphous environment
- Broad knowledge of technology development
- Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR requirement)
- Willingness to travel 25-75%
