Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare disease treatment, is seeking a Regional Account Manager for the Ohio Valley territory (Michigan, Ohio, Northern Indiana, West Virginia). This is a field-based remote role reporting to the Area Business Director, East.
The Regional Account Manager will operate as an entrepreneurial business owner within their assigned region, responsible for developing and executing regional strategy targeting Geneticists, Endocrinologists, and Metabolic Specialists. Key responsibilities include formulating short- and long-term business tactics, identifying regional priorities, creating compliant business plans, improving diagnosis rates for on-label indications, driving sales growth, and partnering cross-functionally across Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Operations, and Compliance.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong presentation and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively. You will need to manage a large multi-state geography, develop strategic business plans, drive innovative solutions to business challenges, and maintain high standards of integrity and compliance. The role requires frequent travel (up to 70% overnight) and a valid driver's license.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, minimum 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech industry with 3+ years of field-based account management or sales experience. Preferred qualifications include an MBA, experience in specialty/genetics/rare disease markets, proven success with product launches (especially first-in-class therapies), and experience navigating complex rare disease patient journeys including diagnosis, referral pathways, and access challenges. You must reside in one of the specified states: MI, OH, Northern IN, or WV.
