Plug is a marketplace for used electric vehicles, founded in 2023 by former Tesla executives. The company has facilitated $150M in EV sales and raised a $20M Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Plug operates an AI-native platform built exclusively for EVs, enabling consumers to receive instant cash offers backed by battery-health data while dealers bid in real time on inventory. The Program Management, Operational Performance role sits at the strategic layer above Plug's Operations team, which runs the marketplace end-to-end: payments, listings, logistics, and commercial intake. You will report to the Sr. Director, Marketplace Operations and own three core areas: **Lead Strategic Operational Projects:** Design and execute strategies to move core KPIs, from process fixes to new operating models. Lead the effort to verticalize operational infrastructure, bringing more of the transaction lifecycle in-house. Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Product to scope, build the case for, and ship high-priority operational initiatives. Work directly with the exec team and functional leads to translate strategy into execution. **Operate as a Utility Player:** Serve as a right hand to Operations leadership, stepping in wherever the business needs it most. Act as a thought partner bringing outside frameworks and fresh thinking. Drive follow-through on action items from WBRs and leadership meetings. Triage incoming fires and ambiguous asks, figuring out ownership and urgency. Take on work that falls outside clean job descriptions. **Own Operational KPIs and Run Operations WBR:** Define and track metrics that matter most (inventory turn time, cash conversion, etc.). Build dashboards for self-serve visibility into performance. Dig into anomalies and trends to find the "why" behind numbers. Own the Operations team's WBR cadence end-to-end: pull numbers, build narrative, drive alignment meetings. Keep the WBR and KPI set sharp as the business evolves. You'll work directly with operators who have scaled multi-billion dollar businesses in automotive, EV, and marketplaces. The role offers real ownership, high autonomy, and a direct line to company outcomes. This is a position for someone who wants to sit close to the business, not adjacent to it—someone who can synthesize data into clear narrative, push a room to make a decision, and then build the thing that makes the decision real. **Requirements:** - 7+ years in operations or strategy, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment - Recently completed MBA or equivalent practical experience, ideally with management consulting background - Thrives in ambiguity with a bias toward action; able to build and execute operating playbooks from scratch - Cross-functional collaborator with experience driving alignment across Sales, Operations, Finance, and Product - Preference for candidates with experience leveraging AI tools for analysis, reporting, and research
