Salary: USD 60,750 - 99,750 / annual
Curriculum Associates is seeking a Professional Learning Specialist with an ELA/Reading background to join their Chicago-based team. This role is ideal for educators transitioning out of the classroom who want to maintain connection to school communities while expanding their impact.
You will provide targeted professional development, in-classroom coaching, and implementation support to school districts adopting Curriculum Associates' products, including i-Ready (which serves one-third of US K–8 students). Your responsibilities include delivering professional learning to teachers, coaches, and leaders; analyzing implementation data; supporting district-wide product adoptions; and collaborating with district and site leaders to develop annual professional learning plans.
Key responsibilities:
- Become an expert on the company's Diagnostic and Instruction program and core/supplemental ELA/Reading products
- Support districts in selecting and implementing products with measurable learning impact
- Provide tailored on-site coaching to teachers, coaches, and leaders on lesson planning, pacing, data analysis, and instructional application
- Work with multiple stakeholders across large audiences to ensure equitable classroom implementation
- Develop and revise annual professional learning plans and schedules with district leaders
- Travel within designated territory and attend company conferences several times per year
- Stay current on state standards and best practices in ELA/Reading instruction
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience teaching ELA/Reading, coaching ELA/Reading teachers, or providing ELA/Reading professional development
- Fluency with digital tools, online assessments, and data analysis
- Understanding of adult learning principles
- Ability to manage and evaluate program implementations
- High-quality classroom coaching skills
- Willingness to travel within territory
- Must live within 30 miles of Chicago
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in ELA or Reading
- Bilingual/biliterate English/Spanish
- Strong knowledge of state ELA/Reading standards (K–8)
