Propel is a venture-backed fintech company that strengthens the social safety net by modernizing how government benefits are delivered. Over 5 million Americans use the Propel app to manage SNAP benefits, access healthcare, and save money on everyday essentials. The company has achieved 35% YoY revenue growth and partners with organizations like Vote.org, GoFundMe, and GiveDirectly, backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz and the Robin Hood Foundation.
As Product Marketing Manager, you will drive go-to-market strategy and adoption for new consumer products that help low-income Americans save money and access essential services, including grocery/retail offers and Medicare navigation tools. You'll report to the Director of Product Marketing and work cross-functionally with Product, Lifecycle, Growth, Research, and business teams.
Key responsibilities include: developing deep audience insights and using them to inform product and marketing strategy; defining and testing differentiated positioning, value propositions, naming, and messaging; writing clear, compelling customer-facing copy for product launches and lifecycle communications; leading go-to-market and lifecycle plans that drive discovery, activation, and engagement; bringing audience and market insights into product development from strategy through launch; and defining success metrics, designing experiments, and using adoption and revenue data to evaluate impact.
You'll need 5+ years of product marketing experience, ideally in consumer technology, with exceptional writing skills and a track record of developing positioning and messaging for new products. Experience with lifecycle communications (onboarding, engagement, retention, reactivation) is essential. You should be comfortable with data-driven decision-making, setting measurable goals, designing experiments, and operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment. Experience in benefits, healthcare, Medicare, fintech, or other complex/regulated consumer categories is especially valuable.
Propel offers a remote-friendly environment with an optional dog-friendly office in Downtown Brooklyn and optional in-person retreats. Benefits include 20 days PTO, 4% 401K match, $10k lifetime Carrot Fertility spend, and excellent medical/dental/vision coverage.
