Rec is a recreation technology platform using AI to modernize how people book sports facilities, sign up for lessons, and join community activities. The $3T global recreation market remains largely fragmented and untouched by modern technology. Rec operates at the intersection of a consumer product and an enterprise platform, serving both public Parks & Recreation agencies and private facility operators (racquet clubs, golf courses, camps, membership facilities). As Product Marketing Lead, you'll own how Rec explains its product to fundamentally different buyer personas and segments. You report to the Head of Revenue and own positioning, messaging, product launches, competitive strategy, pricing input, and sales enablement. This is a technical marketing role requiring deep product fluency—you'll need to understand registration systems, membership management, facility booking, payments, and AI workflows well enough to position them credibly against 15-year-old incumbent software. You're building the product marketing function from scratch. Today, that means doing the work yourself: running customer interviews, competitive teardowns, messaging development, and launch planning. You'll use freelancers or agencies to extend capacity, and if the function grows, you'll scope and hire the team. Key responsibilities include: developing distinct positioning for Parks & Recreation (public sector, procurement-driven) versus Private Rec operators (faster decision cycles); translating Rec's AI capabilities into concrete workflow benefits and time savings; running end-to-end go-to-market for product and AI releases; building competitive intelligence and win/loss analysis; partnering on pricing and packaging strategy; owning sales enablement assets and architecture; developing customer case studies and proof points; and influencing product roadmap through market evidence. This is not a demand generation role. Growth Marketing owns campaigns, channels, ABM, and pipeline metrics. You own the positioning, proof, and creative assets that campaigns run on, and whether the underlying story is correct. You bring 10+ years of B2B product marketing experience, including time at a smaller company where you did the work hands-on, not just directed it. You've built or rebuilt a product marketing function from the ground up. You're technically curious and product-fluent enough to explain complex systems to skeptical buyers and hold your own with engineers. You've owned positioning for multiple buyer segments while maintaining narrative coherence, run launches end-to-end, and participated in pricing and packaging decisions.
