OpenAI seeks a senior product marketing leader to shape how its API and model portfolio reaches businesses globally. You will lead marketing for flagship frontier models, specialized domain models (cybersecurity, life sciences, including Rosalind), and multimodal capabilities (voice, image). Operating at the intersection of Research, Product, and Sales, you will translate technical advances into clear market positions, high-impact launches, and adoption strategies that help enterprises understand and deploy AI capabilities at scale. Key responsibilities include: owning business marketing strategy for the API and model portfolio; defining launch architecture, positioning, priority audiences, and sustained adoption plans; building embedded relationships with Research, Product, and Engineering to understand model capabilities and technical milestones; shaping roadmap decisions and go-to-market approaches; translating model capabilities into differentiated business value and industry narratives; partnering closely with Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, and regional teams on customer-facing narratives and enablement; creating feedback loops connecting market needs with product priorities; making complex research, APIs, and evaluations understandable without losing technical nuance; partnering with Communications, Safety, Policy, and Legal on technical claims; aligning cross-functional teams around priorities; and defining success metrics across customer understanding, demand, API usage, and adoption. Ideal candidates have 12+ years of product marketing experience with senior ownership of complex B2B, enterprise, developer, platform, cloud, or AI products. You should understand frontier AI systems, model families, multimodal capabilities, and APIs deeply enough to communicate accurately. You have successfully developed positioning, audience strategies, launches, and sustained programs across technical product portfolios. You bring deep sales partnership experience building go-to-market strategies and adoption programs that move businesses from interest to scaled usage. You have exceptional strategic judgment translating complex capabilities into clear, differentiated narratives without overclaiming. You can align senior leaders across functions when facts are incomplete or viewpoints diverge. You use customer insights and adoption data to prioritize and measure impact. You move comfortably between strategy and execution. You have experience launching frontier models, AI platforms, APIs, or developer tools. You have marketed specialized technologies to regulated domains. You have brought multimodal capabilities to business audiences. You navigate high-stakes technical claims and partner across Safety, Policy, and Legal teams. You use AI tools thoughtfully in research, positioning, and measurement. The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid model (3 days in office per week). Relocation assistance is offered. Occasional travel required.
