Beacon Software is building technology infrastructure for vertical market software companies—niche, founder-built businesses serving overlooked industries. The company acquires, operates, and grows these businesses permanently, backed by $550M+ in funding from top-tier investors including General Catalyst, Lightspeed, and family offices of Stripe, DoorDash, and Ramp founders. You'll join Beacon's Portfolio Product team as a hands-on Product Manager embedded across 2–5 portfolio companies simultaneously. Acting as a fractional founding product leader, you'll sit close to GMs, operators, and customers to identify leverage points and ship software directly into businesses. Your core responsibilities include owning product outcomes, leading quarterly/annual planning, building and maintaining roadmaps, driving sprint execution, developing prioritization frameworks, building customer feedback systems, coordinating feature launches, and coaching developers and designers. A key differentiator: the best PMs compress learnings into reusable playbooks that spread across the entire portfolio within a vertical. As your scope grows, you may build and lead a PM team, set product vision and standards across industry segments, and partner directly with GMs and founders on portfolio-wide planning. This is not a consulting role—you ship software, not slides. The deliverable is a running system. Ideal candidates bring 4+ years of product management experience (7+ for senior candidates, including 2+ in formal leadership or as co-founder), strong fundamentals in roadmapping, sprint planning, spec writing, and prioritization, sharp customer discovery instincts, comfort managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously, and the ability to influence without direct authority. Entrepreneurial mindset, high autonomy, low ego, and systems thinking are essential. Ex-founders, founding PMs, or early product hires at high-growth startups are particularly well-suited. You should be commercially minded, curious about private equity and rollups, and genuinely excited about transforming businesses through software and AI.
