Outset is an AI-powered user research platform that enables enterprises to conduct qualitative research at scale. The company has raised $30M in Series B funding (December 2025) and counts Hubspot, Microsoft, Uber, and Nestle among its customers. The research industry is valued at over $140B and Outset is disrupting it by replacing slow, expensive incumbent services with AI-moderated interviews. As Research Manager on the Customer Experience team, you will be a trusted research advisor to enterprise customers, guiding them from initial research questions through final insights. You'll own customer relationships end-to-end, acting as a true research partner rather than a transactional point of contact. Key responsibilities include independently scoping, designing, and executing research projects across concept testing, usability studies, and market exploration using the Outset platform. You'll synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into clear, actionable insights that customers can implement. You'll lead customer meetings, onboardings, and training sessions with confidence and create research-focused content and enablement materials. You'll collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to translate customer feedback into product improvements and business impact. The role requires moving fast, experimenting frequently, and driving projects to completion with strong ownership. You should have 5+ years of experience in research, insights, or strategy roles with strong qualitative research expertise. You're comfortable owning projects and client relationships independently in a fast-moving environment. You excel at turning messy data into sharp stories, decks, and dashboards. You're fluent in both quantitative and narrative analysis and know when to deploy each. You communicate clearly and confidently with executives and day-to-day users alike. You're curious, scrappy, and action-biased—you figure things out and get them done.
