Truvo is building a fully autonomous consumer insurance broker that saves households hundreds of dollars on insurance while improving protection. The company is disrupting a trillion-dollar industry still reliant on phone calls, fax machines, and legacy systems. They've raised seed funding and built an AI-native broker platform with autonomous agents that quote, bind, and service policies. Now they're scaling an exceptional team.
As a Product Engineer, you will own how Truvo looks and feels. Insurance software has historically been poorly designed, and Truvo sees great design as a competitive advantage. You'll design and build the interfaces used by customers, agents, and carrier partners, taking features from rough concept to production without handoffs or waiting for specs.
Your responsibilities include:
- Owning features end-to-end: from sketch to shipped React in production, with full ownership and no external dependencies
- Setting the bar for Truvo's visual and interaction design: design system, motion, empty states, and the details that make software feel effortless
- Engaging directly with the insurance team and customers: observing how they use your work and iterating rapidly
- Designing interfaces around autonomous agents: determining where humans intervene, what information they need, and how to make autonomous systems feel trustworthy
You should have strong opinions about interfaces backed by a portfolio demonstrating your work. You're comfortable in both Figma and code, able to move from concept to implementation without external specs or designers. You have strong React and TypeScript skills, understand how to build scalable component libraries, and care about performance and accessibility. You're a builder who takes ideas from zero to one quickly, thrive in ambiguity, and ship. You have product sense—you argue about what to build, not just how, and will push back when a feature direction is wrong.
Nice-to-have skills include design systems at scale, motion and animation, Next.js, or prior experience in consumer fintech or insurtech.
