Figma's AI Insights team, within Research, is hiring a Product Builder to create internal AI products that help Figma employees understand customers and their needs. You will report to Noam Segal, Director of AI Insights.
In this role, you will own products end-to-end—from identifying opportunities and designing experiences through building, launching, and driving adoption. You'll work primarily with AI tools to create internal products that scale customer intimacy across Figma and inform product and business decisions.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify where Figmates need better customer understanding and determine where internal products can make meaningful impact
- Design clear, compelling experiences that help employees find customer evidence, understand needs, and make informed decisions
- Use AI tools to build and ship internal products, owning the work from concept through launch and sustained use
- Ship focused versions early and improve rapidly through feedback, actual use, and careful attention to interaction and visual details
- Define high quality standards for AI behavior, evidence quality, and usability; build evaluations that expose failures and verify improvements
- Partner with Research, Design, Product, Engineering, and internal users to launch products and support adoption
- Demonstrate your work, explain decisions, and share reusable tools and practices; measure whether products improve customer understanding
You enjoy figuring things out by making them. You ship early, improve rapidly, and hold internal experiences to the care expected of customer-facing Figma products.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated exceptional design craft through a background in UX or product design, with strong interaction design, visual judgment, and ability to simplify complex workflows without sacrificing important details
- Built and shipped impactful products by turning ambitious ideas into working solutions using AI tools, demonstrating significant hands-on contributions, strong execution, and sustained value beyond initial prototypes
- Applied deep AI fluency to build sophisticated workflows that connect models, data, and tools; troubleshoot failures across prompts and integrations; and translate emerging capabilities into effective products
- Exercised strong product judgment by identifying unmet user needs, translating complex customer information into intuitive experiences, and making thoughtful tradeoffs across scope, quality, and speed
Added plus (not required):
- Academic background in design, interaction design, or human-computer interaction
- Track record in customer research or building research platforms and tools that help employees explore customer evidence
- Ability to align teams around product priorities, communicate a clear point of view, and drive adoption by resolving competing needs with clear tradeoffs
- Experience building evaluations based on realistic tasks to verify accuracy, evidence quality, and usability of AI-powered products
- Familiarity with Figma's products
