Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Principal Test & Evaluation Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for test and evaluation across the Connected Warfare division's portfolio of systems including Eagle Eye, NGC2, and the Menace family of systems.
This is a senior individual-contributor role positioned above program ownership but below formal people management. You will provide technical oversight and mentorship to Staff and Lead Test Engineers across multiple concurrent defense programs, focusing on cross-system integration challenges, verification strategy coherence, and raising the technical rigor of test execution across the division.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the senior technical authority on test strategy across Connected Warfare's applications, providing oversight to teams running the division's most complex, highest-risk, or multi-system test campaigns
- Reviewing and strengthening verification strategies (requirements-based, scenario-based, and operationally relevant) across software-enabled hardware and pure-software systems
- Acting as connective tissue across test programs by identifying and driving reuse of test infrastructure, tooling, instrumentation, and lessons learned
- Providing technical mentorship and escalation support to Staff and Lead Test Engineers, reviewing test plans, execution approaches, and reporting across developmental test, system integration (HIL/SIL), and operational assessment events
- Supporting Test & Evaluation process execution including Test Readiness Reviews, technical milestone reviews, and customer acceptance events
- Confirming traceability from requirements through verification and validation results, defining and monitoring test coverage and metrics at division level
- Supporting root-cause investigation on complex test findings and system anomalies that cross program boundaries
- Representing Connected Warfare in engineering design reviews (PDR/CDR) and technical exchanges with government customers
- Contributing to technical hiring and onboarding of test engineers
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred); 10-14+ years of system-level test and evaluation experience with 8+ years in technical leadership or test lead capacity; demonstrated technical depth across multiple Connected Warfare-relevant systems such as tactical C2, sensor/mission autonomy platforms, and networked datalinks; and proven track record across the full test lifecycle from requirements development through operational assessment.
